  • Sunrise/Early Morning Shift
Your doula will arrive before everyone is awake and set the day up for peaceful success. This can include preparing a nourishing breakfast, supporting your baby while everyone else relaxes. You will work with your doula to talk through how the night went and so they can help support/educate you.

    Midday Shift
Your doula will arrive anytime within normal business hours to support your family throughout the day. Tasks can include light household tasks and baby-related chores, supporting your baby so everyone can relax, prepping meals or light snacks, processing birth and postpartum and newborn stages and offering support/education/resources where we see fit.

    Tuck In/Late Night Shift
Your doula will be at your house from 6 or 7pm until 10 or 11pm. During this time they will come and support your family through what is often a tough transition time for newborns. Also they'll be sure to make sure you have space to eat dinner and get some rest if needed before the night begins, while also getting everyone set up for the night. Additionally, they will offer emotional support for what is often an overwhelming time of day for parents (i.e. cluster feeding, worry about how the night will go, etc).

  • Overnight Shifts
A minimum of an8 hour shift starting either 10 or 11pm til 6 or 7am. Your doula will be mostly focused on getting parents as much sleep as possible. They can bottle feed your baby or bring your baby to the breastfeeding parent. During feedings, they are there to offer support and education and then get your baby changed and settled back to sleep, allowing parents to go right back to sleep. Additionally, they can perform very light baby-related chores (i.e. a load of laundry, washing bottles/pump parts, light meal prep for morning breakfast). Your doula will rest when appropriate if the baby is sleeping and all is well. Should the baby wake, they will support in the best ways based on your child's needs at the time. Your doula will also offer education and best practices and tips as well during this time.

Empowering your birth experience.
